What would be an easy way to make Pink Ladies jackets?

I need to get four or fives pink ladies jackets. I'm not the best at sewing, so I was thinking I could buy the jackets and then add the "Pink Ladies." The jackets from the movies are like solid pink wind breakers with the girls' names embroidered onto the front and the words Pink Ladies embroidered on the back? Suggestions? What can a big group dress up as for a sponsored run?

We're doing a sponsored run at school in fancy dress to raise money for local charities. We're in year 9 and need a fancy dress costume that is cheap and easy to make.
The sort of ideas we've come up with are:
The Pink Ladies from Grease.

I *love* this idea. You want to be sure the costumes let you move freely and aren't too hot. Skirts are excellent for this, since runners can wear shorts underneath.

IMO, the more silly and/or outlandish, the better. Why not have everybody dress as little girls? Lots of ways to do that, spending a little. Or everybody dress as a character from The Nightmare Before Christmas, or Harry Potter, or anything else with a variety of looks? Or all of you dressed as Superman--red and blue running clothes, red knee socks (in lieu of boots) and a cape, plus the big S.

Being able to dress as a recognizable group but not being identical within the group is the way to go.

We're Having a Grease film night at the local community centre to raise money for breast cancer and we need ideas of things to do on the night. We will have a raffle and a cake stall. Well 21... I would say grease only because that was pretty much the oldie type and i like that movie much better then hairspray!
The guest can all come dressed in the type of clothes they all wore back in the movie. But if you wanna be Danny and your girl to be sandy and have the whole thing with your friends being Danny crew the t birds and also the pink ladys. All the way to the annoying yearbook girl, to the bad guys crew, and ect. You can find all the costumes on the internet. Decorations could be the year you were born to the movie backdrops and settings. Activities ohh fun, it will be the carnival thing they had at the end!
