i have a school concert tomorrow and we are singing a grease medly. my teacher said we can go all out and get the sirt and pink ladies jacket- uhhh, no thanks! our other option is a black shirt and pants- BORRRRRINGGG! so i want to recreate the outfit sandy wore in the last scene, but school appropriate of course! so i have to work with what I have.
i was thinking about wearing black pants rolled up to about mid-leg and maybe a jean jacket w/ a black shirt under it (we can't wear white) and yeah no slutty shirts lol!
*i was also thinking about wearing a turquoise scarf w/ my outfit just tied around my neck but i dont know if were allowed.
im wondering if this is an okay outfit for tomorrow, im afraid if i go all out i could get in trouble. thanks!
WHY did a school do a "grease concert" if they didn't want to let the students dress in period appropriate dress: Sounds wank to me.

I think it'd make quite a cute and kitsch fancy dress idea, but I'm not overly sure what to wear!? I don't want to buy a special costume (apart from a pink ladies jacket!) so what could I wear to make it 50's/Grease style?

Well, you could always rent a costume from a fancy dress hire shop. But, you could wear black 3/4 length leggings or black 3/4 length skinny jeans, and a black scarf around your neck with black heels. Or, wear a black full-circle knee-length skirt, white top with collar, frilly socks and either black pumps or trainers to go for the cuter look, as opposed to the Rizo sexy look.

If metallic (gold or silver) hairspray isn't available, I could use cheap, "crazy" wigs. Is there a shop which specialises in renting costumes but also would sell the spray or the wigs or the grease paint?
Call up a costume shop. Any place that rents costume will likely have the items you seek. If you're not having any luck there, call a big theatre and ask where they get their supplies. It may help to tell them you saw a production there and were sooo impressed with the makeup job (For instance on the Beast in Beauty and the Beast) and you would love to know where they get their supplies. You can also look online. There are many places you can order from directly.
